- Venous or lymph obstructed flow in 1-2 limbs
III. Causes: Unilateral or Asymmetric Leg Swelling
- Acute (especially last 72 hours)
- Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
- Cellulitis
- Local Trauma
- Chronic
- Venous Insufficiency
- Popliteal Cyst (Baker’s Cyst)
- Localized lymphatic obstruction (Lymphedema)
IV. Causes: Infectious or inflammatory
- Boils
- Carbuncle
- Cellulitis
- Abscess
- Erysipelas
- Osteomyelitis
- Gas Gangrene
- Gout
- Angioedema
V. Causes: Venous Obstruction
- Thrombophlebitis
- Deep Venous Thrombosis (DVT)
- Neoplasm (e.g. pelvic tumor, Lymphoma)
- Varicosity (Varicose Veins)
- Arteriovenous fistula
- Lymph node mass
- Aneurysm
- Tight clothing (e.g. Garter)
- May-Thurner Syndrome
- Left iliac vein compressed by right iliac artery
VI. Causes: Lymphatic Obstruction
- Filariasis
- Cellulitis
- Neoplasm
- Surgical excision
- Milroy’s Disease
VII. Causes: Local Trauma or injury
- Bruise or Contusion
- Ligamentous Sprain or tendonous strain
- Fracture
- Insect Bite
- Snake Bite
- Irritant or corrosive
- Frostbite
- Sunburn
- Burn Injury
VIII. Causes: Congenital
- Amniotic band
- Arteriovenous fistula
