II. Causes: Work-Related Skin Disorders
- Irritant Contact Dermatitis
- Direct cause of localized inflammation (acids, bases, water, detergents or cleansers)
- Wet work is associated with more than two thirds of cases
- Common in auto and paint industry, printers, hair dressers, and healthcare workers
- Allergic Contact Dermatitis
- Common causes include metals (esp. Nickel), epoxy, acrylics,
- Common in farm and forestry work, cement work, healthcare and lab workers
- Acne Vulgaris (oil or grease exposure)
- Folliculitis (oil or grease exposure)
- Burn Injury or mechanical injury
- Cellulitis and other Skin Infections
- Occupational Skin Cancer
